+ Sistine Chapel Choir makes Surprise Appearance at Met Gala
- Description: The annual Met Gala, one of the fashion industry’s biggest events, took place last night in New York. The theme was "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” and is the kickoff of an exhibit of the same name which features several church-owned pieces that are on display outside the Vatican for the first time ever. The costumes inspired by this theme varied from the benign to the outright bizarre. But the real story of the night was the surprise appearance by the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel Choir, which will also be touring the US this summer. John Hale was at the event and has helped coordinate the tour. He joins us and Al has some more thoughts on how Catholic images were used.
