+ The Life and Cause of Servant of God Maria de Bianchini
- Description: Servant of God Maria Esperanza de Bianchini, a mystic and visionary from Venezuela, claimed her first mystical experience at the age of five, saying she had a vision of St. Therese of Lisieux giving her a rose. When she was twelve years old she reported having an apparition of the Blessed Mother. Her Cause for Canonization has been opened and we’ll talk with the Cause’s vice-postulator, Fr. Timothy Byerley.

Fr. Timothy Byerley
Fr. Timothy Byerley, pastor of St. Peter Church in Merchantville of the Diocese of Camden, New Jersey, is serving as vice postulator for the Beatification and Canonization Cause of Servant of God Maria Esperanza. He is also author of the 2014 book, Maria Esperanza and the Grace of Betania (Mary Mother Reconciler Foundation, 2014). He was ordained to the priesthood in 1985; his brother, Joseph, is also a priest of the Diocese of Camden.

+ Continued Controversy Leads Netflix to Edit Suicide Scene in 13 Reasons Why
- Description: Shortly before launching the third season of 13 Reasons Why, Netflix has announced that it is removing a scene depicting a graphic teen suicide from the show’s first season. Mental health experts had warned when the show initially launched that the graphic suicide depiction could result in suicide contagion, or “copycat” suicides. Meanwhile, Oregon – a state with above-average suicide rates – has passed a law allowing students to take “mental health days” and be excused as they would for a regular sick day.
