Fr. Patrick Fulton talks about the new Hall of Science at Detroit’s Catholic Central High School. 

 

Fr. Patrick Fulton, CSB began his career at Catholic Central in 2016 as a teacher. In 2019, he was appointed the 21st Principal in Catholic Central history. He holds degrees from the University of Saskatchewan ’90, the University of St. Michael’s College ’96, the University of Alberta ’00, and OISE, University of Toronto. Notably, he is the first Basilian to have served at all three Basilian high schools in North America; as a Teacher at St. Michael’s College School in Toronto, as Principal at St. Thomas High School in Houston, and as both a Teacher and Assistant Principal at Catholic Central. He also serves as the local superior of the Basilian Fathers in the Detroit area.

Kristen Olmedo, President & CEO, CALC

Kristin Olmedo joined United Community Family Services/ Chaldean American Ladies of Charity (UCFS/CALC) as its new president and CEO in June 2021. Kristin is responsible for the oversight and strategic direction of UCFS/CALC’s services to more than 10,000 people annually in metro Detroit. Kristin has dedicated her career to the care of others. She is a vastly experienced nonprofit executive who brings a lifelong passion and commitment to those less fortunate in our community. Prior to joining UCFS/CALC, Kristin was the Director of Development of Grace Centers of Hope, Pontiac, Mich. where she advanced through several positions including Director of Financial and Business Operations of Grace Centers of Hope. Kristin is a powerful force in the workplace and uses her positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage others to work hard and succeed. A resident of Clarkston, Mich., Kristin earned her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Oakland University. In her free time, she likes to travel with her husband, watch soccer and spend time with her nephew and niece.

Dr. Tiffany Zair-Yalda graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2010 after receiving her bachelors from Oakland University in health sciences.
