Emma Sandberg, an award-winning, eighteen year-old violinist, performed a concert for the staff of Ave Maria Radio today. Emma, who has been playing violin since the age of three, received Third Prize at her first international competition in the Czech Republic in 2011. In 2012, she performed at Carnegie Hall with the New York String Orchestra. She is a member of the Pioneer Symphony Orchestra and is the Concertmaster of the Michigan Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Emma performed Sonata No. 3, in D minor, Ballade (1923), by Eugene Ysaye; Caprice No. 5, in A minor (1809), by Niccolo Paganini; and Sonata No. 2, in A minor (1705), by Johann Sebastian Bach.
