Ave Maria Radio's Online Only Membership Drive

Ave Maria Radio is conducting an online only membership drive this month aimed at raising much-needed funds and increasing its membership numbers. The goal is to get at least 250 new people to pledge their support and join a growing army of members who are making Ave Maria Radio a national powerhouse for the proclamation of the Gospel and the teachings of the Catholic Church. By becoming a new member, you can be a part of this spirited movement of faith that broadcasts the salvation of Christ to people around the globe each and every day.

If everyone visiting this website made a tax-deductible donation right now – and there are hundreds of thousands of you – Ave Maria Radio would certainly meet its financial goals for the year in just 29 days! Think about it – the more you’re able to give, the nearer Ave Maria Radio gets to achieving its goals.

So do it now. Let’s put more people on the pathway to heaven. Become a new member today! Just click the donate button and make a difference! Stay tuned to this page to see our progress as the Ave Maria Radio online-only membership drive continues.

Please use the form below to contribute to Ave Maria Radio’s February Online Membership Drive.

Talking About the “Things That Matter Most” on February 21

4:00 – Kresta Comments

4:20 – Peace in Ukraine?
Ukraine’s opposition leaders signed an EU-mediated peace pact with President Viktor Yanukovich today, winning a raft of concessions in a delicate deal to end violence that killed at least 77 people and turned the capital into a battle zone. By nightfall, opposition leaders who signed the deal were addressing peaceful crowds from a stage in Independence Square, which for the past 48 hours had become an inferno of blazing barricades, where protesters were shot dead by police snipers. But the crowd was still defiant, holding aloft open coffins of slain demonstrators and making speeches denouncing the opposition leaders for shaking hands with Yanukovich. Yanukovich agreed to create a national unity government, change the constitution to reduce his powers and leave office early for new elections. We talk to George Weigel about the deal.

4:40 – An Adventure in Ecumenicity
Next week Sacred Heart Major Seminary is sponsoring a symposium bringing together Catholics, Evangelicals and Reformed Protestants to ask whether the “adventure if ecumenicity” advances Christian unity or confuses the real differences among the confessional traditions. We talk to Dr. Eduardo Echeverria who is the force behind the conference.

5:00 – Kresta Comments: Facebook Offers New Gender Options – 51 of Them!!!
You don’t have to be just male or female on Facebook anymore. The social media giant has added a customizable option with 51 different terms people can use to identify their gender as well as three preferred pronoun choices: him, her or them. Facebook said the changes are aimed at giving people more choices in how they describe themselves, such as androgynous, bi-gender, intersex, gender fluid or transsexual. We talk about what this tells us about how God created us, the narcissism of today’s culture and whether this is significant or just a unique success by fringe activist groups.
