Advent Confession:

PRODIGAL – spending money or resources freely and recklessly; wastefully extravagant. Having or giving something on a lavish scale.

In this talk Fr. John flips the story of the prodigal son on its head and discusses how the one in this story who is truly prodigal is the father. And how what he is prodigal with, or liberal with, or wasteful with, is his mercy.

Fr. John implores us to contemplate the Scripture laid out during this talk. We must reconsider the Sacrament of Reconciliation and through it, the Father’s mercy in our lives, especially during this Advent and Christmas season.

The Mystery of Advent:

THIS IS NOT A STORY. THIS IS NOT A MYTH. THE NATIVITY IS REAL.

In this talk, Fr. John Riccardo dives into Scriptures to regain the wonder we should experience when we contemplate the mysteries of Advent.

We must get beyond seeing Mary and Joseph as cute little statues in our nativity set and allow ourselves to see them as real persons who intercede for us and want us to know the One who they knew and know now. They want us to share in their fellowship. What they have seen and heard and encountered, they want us to see and hear and encounter so that what they had – and have – we can have: fellowship with God.
