Description: Who took Jesus' life? No One took Jesus' life, according to the Catholic Catechism. Jesus freely gave up His life and took it up again. He knew His Passion and death were the instruments of His Father's redemptive plan, that this was His Father's desire and thus it was His desire. At the Last Supper, Jesus made a memorial of His voluntary offering to His Father when He instituted the Eucharist. He made His apostles the priests of the New Covenant when He told them to perpetuate the memorial. The Catechism tells us, "in suffering and death, His humanity became the free and perfect instrument of his divine love which desires the salvation of men." This is Peggy Stanton and this has been the Order of Malta's Minute with the Catechism.
