Description: We were made for spiritual greatness. The Divine Image is in every person, however dimly seen in some. God gave man a spiritual and immortal soul. From the first moment in the womb, he or she is destined for eternal life with God. Man, by his reasoning, is capable of understanding the order the Creator has established. By our will, we are capable of aligning ourselves with our true good, which is where we find our perfection. Reason provides recognition of God's voice directing us toward good and avoiding evil. The Law of God is made known by our conscience and is fulfilled by love of God and love of neighbor. Because our first parents sinned, we suffer the wound of Original Sin. Thus while we still desire good, we are inclined toward evil and subject to error. This is Peggy Stanton and this has been the Order of Malta's Minute with the Catechism.
