Description: What happens to us when we receive Confirmation? What are the effects of the sacrament? The Catholic Catechism tells us when Christians are confirmed, their baptismal grace is increased and deepened. They share more completely in the mission of the Lord Jesus. They are filled with the Holy Spirit so that their lives give off "the aroma of Christ." The anointing of Confirmation, the Catechism further tells us, places on the confirmand the seal of the Holy Spirit, signifying his or her "total belonging to Christ and enrollment in his service forever as well as the promise of Divine protection in the great eschatological trial."
