Description: What is meant by the Communion of Saints? The Catholic Catechism has some very consoling words for those who have lost loved ones in death. It tells us that when Christ returns in glory, surrounded by His angels, everything and everyone will be subject to him and death will be no more. In the here and now, however, some disciples are pilgrims on earth, some are in the purification process and some are in heaven where God is visible to them as He really is. The Catechism teaches that souls in this state are still united to their loved ones on earth. "...this union is reinforced by an exchange of spiritual goods..." "Since these souls are more closely united to Christ, they do not cease to intercede with the Father." This is Peggy Stanton and this has been the Order of Malta's Minute with the Catechism.
