Description: It is for our freedom that Christ has set us free; St. Paul tells the Galatians and us. In no way is the grace Christ won for us in competition with our freedom, the Catechism of the Catholic Church tells us. Rather it enhances it by promoting greater inner freedom when we conform our will to the true and the good that God has placed in our human hearts. As this inner freedom grows, we are conditioned to face the trials and pressures visited upon us by the world in which we live. "By the working of grace", says the Catechism, "the Holy Spirit educates us in spiritual freedom in order to make us free collaborators in His work in the Church and in the world."
