Kresta in the Afternoon – September 3, 2008 – Hour 1

  • Description:

First Topic –Slave Labor in Your Back Yard

We take an eye-opening look at the contemporary American scourge of labor abuse and outright slavery. Journalist and author John Bowe visited locations in Florida, Oklahoma and the U.S.-owned Pacific island of Saipan, where slavery cases have been brought to light as recently as 2006. There, he talks to affected workers, providing many moving and appalling first-hand accounts. We look at the very real problem of modern American slavery.

Second Topic – Unveiling a New Product – The UnBible!

Third Topic – “Doing it Their Own Way”

In his priestly ministry Fr. Jeffrey Bayhi has worked a great deal with the retreat movement on many different levels, including high school and college, parish missions, diaconate and priesthood retreats, and prison ministry, including a hospital for the criminally insane. He has now produced a CD which is a contemporary meditation on the Way of the Cross, born out of the years in which so many people, under their own personal crosses, trusted him with their journey. The CD is recorded with Fr. Bayhi and Aaron Neville. Fr. Bayhi is here to discuss the CD and the world of ministry.
