The world's most populous Muslim-majority country also has significant Christian, Buddhist and Hindu communities but in recent years has trended toward deeper religious piety and Islamic activism. Dr. Robert Hefner
Dr Robert Hefner is a professor of anthropology at Boston University, where he directs the Institute of Culture, Religion and World Affairs. At CURA, he has directed the program on Islam and society since 1991; coordinated interdisciplinary educational programs on religion and world affairs; and is currently involved in research projects comparing responses to modern social change in Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. He is a contributor to the Under Caesars Sword project.
