Kresta in the Afternoon – October 3, 2007 – Hour 1

  • Description:

First Topic – Burma’s Brutal Crackdown Continues

In Myanmar the killing goes on. Opponents of the regime, many Buddhist monks, are falling victim to the junta's special forces by night. Witnesses say hundreds, if not thousands, are dead. Thousands more have disappeared and are unaccounted for, assumed to be in a massive government concentration camp in Rangoon. We explore the situation in Myanmar from the perspective of the Buddhist monks who are being slaughtered. Buddhist leader Gelek Rimpoche joins us.

Second Topic – Interviewing St. Augustine

Leonardo DeFilippis has become famous the world over for his one-man productions on St. Francis, St. Maximilian Kolbe, The Gospels of Luke and John, St. John of the Cross and most recently St. Augustine. We welcome St. Augustine to our studios – in the human form of Leonardo DeFilippis.
