Kresta in the Afternoon – October 22, 2007 – Hour 1

  • Description:

    First Topic --  Authentic Gospel?

Joel is the senior pastor of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, North America’s largest and fastest growing church, averaging more than 47,000 attendees at weekly services. He has been making the media rounds on his second book, Become a Better You, which has a first printing of three million copies. His “church” has no crosses, no sacred objects, no visible signs of Christianity. He refuses to call his “podium” a pulpit. Osteen says that he chooses to focus on the goodness of God rather than sin. Is he preaching an authentic Gospel or a dangerous dressed-up self-help seminar? We look at it.

Second Topic -- Black Catholic Ministry

Having begun by handing out Bibles and Preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ on the inner city streets, through the Grace of God, Richard Lane has gone into Baptist, Inter/Non- denominational Churches, sharing the Good News of Salvation in the truest form of ecumenism.  As we come upon National Black Catholic History Month in November, Mr. Lane joins us to discuss Black Catholic Ministry.
