Kresta in the Afternoon – June 26, 2007 – Hour 1

  • Description:

    First Topic - Rachel's Vineyard

In 1986 Dr. Theresa Burke started one of the first therapeutic support groups for post-aborted women. Rachel's Vineyard became a grassroots national outreach. By word of mouth only, retreats began to spread across the country. Rachel's Vineyard has grown to 500 retreats annually, held in 47 states and 17 countries. We talk with Michelle Krystofik, Respect Life Director in the Archdiocese of Newark and new site coordinator for Rachel's Vineyard.

Second Topic - Abortion: a Personal Perspective

The impact of abortion on men is not widely understood or discussed. But opinion polls have shown that men are equally, or even more likely, than women to admit feelings of guilt and regret about a past abortion. We talk about recovery from post-abortion trauma, seeking forgiveness, and coping with the destructive consequences for spousal, family and work relationships. Post-abortive couple Dan and Kathy Hawk are our guests.
