Kresta in the Afternoon – June 25, 2007 – Hour 2

  • Description:

First Topic – Supreme Court rules for faith-based initiatives

The Supreme Court handed down a number of rulings today involving WI Right to Life, free speech in high school and funding for the federal office of faith-based initiatives. All three decisions were 5-4. Attorney and court watcher Jordon Lawrence joins us from the Alliance Defense Fund to break down these cases and examine what impact they will have.

Second Topic– “The New Evangelization” – Turning a catchy phrase into tangible action

Spreading the Gospel means both responding to the challenges of the times while continuing the missionary directive Christ gave to his first followers. Hector Molina, Director of the Office of the New Evangelization in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, says we have to recover a sense of urgency about spreading the faith. The term "new evangelization" was coined by Pope John Paul II and we examine the practical applications of what the Pope was talking about. Hector Molina is our guest.
