Kresta in the Afternoon – June 17, 2008 – Hour 2

  • Description:

First Topic – The Profile of a Seminarian

As Dean of Studies at Sacred Heart Major Seminary, Fr. Todd Lajiness spends a lot of time with the young men at Sacred Heart that will be the priests of tomorrow. As we continue to hear the mantra from the secular press that the priesthood is on the ropes in America until the Church allows women priests and drops the practice of celibacy, we hear the truth about today’s seminarian from a man who knows them well.

Second Topic – Encountering the World of Catholic Blogging

The world of Catholic blogging is a window into contemporary and orthodox Catholic thought that takes Pope John Paul II’s call for a new evangelization and turns it into a worldwide discussion of faith, morals, politics, and plain old daily life. As blogs have taken off, so have Catholic blogs. We talk with Tom Peters, moderator of the blog Americanpapist.com about his work with the blog, the topics he discusses and the interaction with his readers.
