First Topic – CA Attorney General rewords Proposition 8

Proponents of a ballot measure to ban same-sex “marriages” in California plan to appear in court today to challenge state Attorney General Jerry Brown's rewording of the measure's ballot summary. On the petitions circulated last year to qualify the measure for the Nov. 4 ballot, it was "only marriage between a man a woman is valid or recognized in California." But Brown's new title and summary of Proposition 8, posted on the Secretary of State's Web site states the proposed constitutional amendment "Eliminates right of same-sex couples to marry." We look at it with the spokeswoman for the Protect Marriage Coalition.

Second Topic – Eternity, Time, and the Life of Wisdom

Father Matthew Lamb is Director of the Graduate Theology Program at Ave Maria University and has devoted his life to recalling students and believers to the reality that there is a “life of wisdom,” a way of living in the light of eternity, living in accord with what is highest in the human person. In our busy lives we often get distracted by the daily difficulties that we face, until it seems that we are simply living in order to work, pay taxes, and go shopping. Fr. Lamb powerfully reminds us that our true identity is known only in light of Christ's Resurrection. We explore the Christian life of wisdom in the context of Enlightenment cultures.
