Kresta in the Afternoon – January 23, 2008 – Hour 1

  • Description:

First Topic – Christian Bashing: The Last Acceptable Prejudice

ESPN anchorwoman Dana Jacobson recently graphically attacked Jesus Christ at a dinner event. On January 11, Jacobson roared from the podium, “F*** Notre Dame,” “F*** Touchdown Jesus,” and finally “F*** Jesus.” The response from ESPN has been minimal. It begs the question, “If she has said F***Mohammad and F***Islam, would she still have a job? We talk with Dr. Gary Cass, author of Christian Bashing: The Last Acceptable Prejudice.

Second Topic – The Dead Theologians Society

Inspired by the lives of the Saints, the Dead Theologians Society began in 1997 at St. Francis de Sales Church in Newark, Ohio as a parish program for high school teenagers. Teens regularly packed the 125 year old church’s undercroft chapel to discover treasures of the Catholic faith. There are now over 80 chapters nationwide inspiring the youth of today through the theologians of yesterday. Society founder and president Eddie Cotter is with us.
