  • Description: In the 1950s America was emerging from two decades of the Great Depression and the New Deal and was facing the rise of radical ideologies worldwide. The American Right seemed beaten, broken and adrift. From this chaos emerged Russell Kirk’s masterpiece “The Conservative Mind.” The book became the intellectual touchstone for a reinvigorated conservative movement.
