Kresta in the Afternoon – January 14, 2008 – Hour 2

  • Description:

First Topic – Kresta Comments: The Catholic Vote

With Iowa and New Hampshire behind us and Michigan and South Carolina on the horizon, the battle for the Republican and Democratic nominations remains very much in doubt. Where will the Catholic vote come out? What issues have emerged that matter most to Catholics? And what moral duties do Catholics take to the ballot box with them? We explore these and other questions as we try to sort out the moral issues in the most complex presidential race in decades.

Second Topic – Natural Law Theory: A Primer

Natural law theory is enjoying a revival of interest today in a variety of disciplines, including law, philosophy, political science, and theology. One of the leading Catholic thinkers in things legal, Robert George, is with us to examine the lively contemporary debate among natural law theorists of different schools, as well as between natural law theorists and their critics.
