- Description: Rick and Karen Santorum’s eighth child was born with Trisomy 18, also known as Edwards syndrome, an extremely dangerous genetic disorder. Only 10% of babies with this syndrome survive birth; of the children who do survive, 90% die within their first year. Bella Santorum is one of the survivors. She has overcome numerous scares and has brought joy and inspiration to the world. Rick and Karen are with us to talk about the daughter’s journey.

Rick & Karen Santorum
Rick Santorum is a former candidate for Republican nominatio and Co-Founder of Patriot Voices, a grassroots community promoting faith, freedom and opportunity. He is the Author of “Blue Collar Conservatives,” “American Patriots: Answering the Call to Freedom” and “It Takes a Family: Conservatism and the Common Good.” His new book he co-wrote with his wife is called “Bella’s Gift: How One Little Girl Transformed Our Family and Inspired a Nation”. Karen is the author of “Letters to Gabriel” and worked for several years as a nurse in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
