Kresta in the Afternoon – August 30, 2007 – Hour 1

  • Description:

First Topic - Humanae Vitae - 40 years later

Next year marks the 40th anniversary of the encyclical of Pope Pius VI "Humanae Vitae." Now proven to be prophetic in many ways, Humanae Vitae remains one of the most controversial papal documents in modern times. Ave Maria University will be sponsoring a conference on the 40th anniversary of this document. Dr. Michael Dauphinais joins us to discuss the event and the impact of Humanae Vitae over the years.

Second Topic - Mother Teresa's Dark Night

In a book just released by the postulator of the cause for canonization of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, it is reiterated that Mother Teresa experienced a long and profound "dark night of the soul." This information has been given lenghty and quite improper treatment in the media over the last few days. Fr. Matthew Lamb, chair of the Theology Department at Ave Maria University gives us the proper perspective ahead of our interview Friday with the author himself, Fr. Brian Kolodiejchuk.
