Pope Francis, Vatican II and Clarity (full hour)
Description: A challenge in understanding Pope Francis’s papacy is his perceived lack of clarity. This tendency, coupled with our unprecedented access to nearly everything the pope writes or says, has helped lead to the some of the controversies of his papacy. Catholics and other Christians have used his pronouncements to justify their own views on Vatican II and other matters. Ed Echeverria has studied Francis’ writings closely, especially his relation to Vatican II. He joins us with a look.
Eduardo Echeverria is author of Pope Francis: The Legacy of Vatican II. He's a professor of Philosophy and Systematic Theology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary.
