+  Vatican Updates Seminary Guidelines…Will it Change Anything?

  • Description: The Vatican has released a document called "The Gift of Priestly Vocation," which updates the Church's guidelines for priestly formation. The document reasserts that those who practice homosexuality or present deep-seated homosexual tendencies cannot be admitted to seminary. It also says that seminary education should include studies of climate change and other environmental factors. Most media coverage has focused on these two topics, but the document contains much more. We'll talk about it with Deacon James Keating.

  • Description: Fifty years ago, Charles Schultz agreed to create an animated Christmas special starring his beloved Peanuts characters. The program sponsors needed the entire story outline fashioned virtually overnight. Thomas Ford recreates the struggles Schultz went through and imagines a conversation between the cartoonist, his characters and the spirit of Charles Dickens. We'll talk with Thomas today.

He has extensive education in Divinity Studies and has edited dissertations for Masters and Doctoral candidates in Theology. For the past 30 years he has taught religion to youth and adults. He has also established religious ed programs for children at churches of various denominations and has given apostolic lectures to non-Christians including Jewish and Islamic groups.
