  • Description: St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church launches Season 8 of its highly successful Why Be Catholic series of personal stories and testimonies with an unusual and compelling speaker, Deacon Andrew Dawson, the English grandson of an Anglican priest and the son of a Baptist minister turned Anglican priest, who is a third-year seminarian at Sacred Heart Major Seminary “on loan” to St. Michael’s as a transitional deacon prior to his ordination to the Catholic priesthood next year, on Wednesday, September 28th , at 7 PM in the St. Michael School cafeteria. Deacon Dawson came to the U.S. 21 years ago to work an 8-week summer job at Camp Sancta Maria in Gaylord, MI, which was his first taste of anything Catholic and led to his unique and lengthy journey. St. Michael’s is located at 11441 Hubbard Rd., just south of Plymouth Rd., between Farmington and Merriman Rds. in Livonia.
