    +  Adoration of Atonement

    • Description: A number of priests in the Archdiocese of Detroit have planned a time of prayer in atonement for the failings and sins of our brother priests and our bishops. A communal response from us is to hold a time of all-night Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament by priests from Thursday September 13 7:30pm – Friday, September 14 7:30am at St. Mary in Royal Oak. There will be at least 2 priests present praying before Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament all night for these intentions: 1. In atonement for the sins of the clergy, particularly the sins of sexual abuse. 2. Begging the Lord for the grace to recommit to priestly holiness and zeal. 3. Praying for healing for the victims of those abused by priests and bishops and 4. Interceding to the Lord for wisdom for His Church to know the way forward and for courage to follow Him on that way. We will also be fasting on these days for the same intentions. The church will be open to all who want to join us. Mass will be offered at the end of Adoration (7:30am) for the Feast of the Triumph of the Cross.
