Fr. Courtney is a graduate of Mount St. Mary’s Seminary and pastor of both St. Anthony’s and Sacred Heart parishes in the Diocese of Lincoln, Nebraska. He has taught high school religion for several years and has a sound, solid and inspirational way of engaging teens in faith formation as well as awakening and fanning the flames of the faith of all ages.
John Paul Shimek holds advanced graduate degrees in Roman Catholic Theology and Philosophy from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Shimek is a specialist in the teachings of the Second Vatican Council, Blessed Pope John Paul II, and Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. He is a Lecturer in the Theology of the New Evangelization as well as Political, Legal, and Moral Philosophy at Silver Lake College of the Holy Family in Manitowoc, Wisconsin in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Green Bay. He has served as a special assistant to the now-Cardinal Timothy Michael Dolan and Archbishop Jerome Listecki of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. And, he has provided advisory counsel to numerous Church and civic leaders, including Governor Scott McCallum of Wisconsin and Victoria Thorn of the Pontifical Academy for Life and the National Office of Post-Abortion Reconciliation and Healing.
