Maurice Durufle’s 20th Century masterpiece of liturgical music, the Requiem, is beautifully mysterious, and sublime. This Requiem is a fusion of traditional plainchant, lush harmony, gorgeous orchestration, and spiritual tranquility. We feature a very fine recording of this work (on the Hyperion label) that was made in the year of the composer’s death. Durufle offers us music that has the power to lead our hearts and souls to God.
