Dr. R. Thomas Richard is the author of The Interior Liturgy of the Our Father. He has served as religious formation director for parishes, director of lay ministry and deacon formation at the diocesan level, and retreat director. A former teacher, engineer, Protestant minister, and missionary, he has earned graduate degrees in Catholic theology and ministry, Protestant ministry, and physics. He is the author of several books in Catholic spirituality, which are described on his website, www.renewthechurch.com.

There and Back Again: A Somewhat Religious Odyssey

Brought up in an Evangelical Protestant home, Fr. Dwight Longenecker attended the fundamentalist Bob Jones University, and continued his education by studying theology at Oxford University before being ordained as an Anglican minister, serving as a curate, a school chaplain in Cambridge, and a country parson on the Isle of Wight. He shares how this long journey eventually brought him to the Church.

Father Dwight Longenecker, raised in an Evangelical Protestant home, attended Bob Jones University, pursued further studies in theology at Oxford, and was ordained an Anglican minister. In 1995, he was received into the Catholic Church in England, and eleven years later he returned to his native United States to be ordained as a Catholic priest. He now serves as pastor of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Greenville, South Carolina. He is the author of several books including Beheading Hydra and Mystery of the Magi. His newest book is his autobiography – There and Back Again: A Somewhat Religious Odyssey.
