Kresta in the Afternoon – May 3, 2021 – Hour 2
Doug Keck discusses Archbishop’s new pastoral letter on reception of the Eucharist and Brian Pedraza explains why we need the New Evangelization.
Archbishop Cordileone on the Eucharist
On Saturday Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco issued a pastoral letter calling on all Catholics who publicly support abortion to refrain from receiving Communion until they have repented. In an accompanying set of questions and answers, he stressed that this document is not directed at any particular individual and if a person does present themselves, they should be refused “both for the sake of the erring individual, because we are dealing with nothing less than the eternal destiny of that individual, and for the sake of the faithful, many of whom are confused and scandalized by prominent Catholics who publicly profess their faith and yet act against one of the most basic Catholic moral norms.” Doug Keck joins us to talk about this and what’s coming up at EWTN.

Catholics have heard the call to embrace the New Evangelization – but why is it necessary in the first place? Where did we go wrong, and why did we fail to properly preach the Gospel and make disciples? Brian Pedraza presents a Catechesis for the New Evangelization.
