Kresta in the Afternoon – March 18, 2024 – Hour 2

Ed Sri has tips for praying the Stations of the Cross and Gerard Verschuuren helps us answer the moral questions of our time.

Answering the Moral Questions of our Time

We are born with an inherent understanding of right and wrong – it’s one of the things that sets us apart from the rest of Creation. But the world we live in – one that no longer acknowledges even something as basic as the nature of gender – constantly interferes with this understanding. How can we regain our moral compass? We talk with Gerard Verschuuren about reacquainting our moral judgement.

Gerard Verschuuren is the author of Matters of Life and Death: A Catholic Guide to the Moral Questions of Our Time. He is a scientist, writer, speaker, and consultant, working at the interface of science and religion, creation and evolution, faith and reason. He is a biologist by training who has studied and worked at universities in Europe and the US.

Five Ways to Pray the Stations of the Cross

As we approach Holy Week, many of us will be praying the Stations of the Cross. You don’t need to attend a service at Church to do so – there are lots of ways to benefit from this spiritual practice. We talk with Dr. Ed Sri

Dr. Edward Sri is a theologian, well-known Catholic speaker, and author of several best-selling books, including When You Pray. His work with Ascension includes study programs such as A Biblical Walk Through the Mass, No Greater Love: A Biblical Walk Through Christ’s Passion and Mary: A Biblical Walk with the Blessed Mother. Several of Dr. Sri’s programs were filmed on-site in the Holy Land, and feature immersive video explorations of the sacred sites where Jesus, Mary, and the Apostles lived and died. Dr. Sri is the host of the acclaimed Ascension podcast All Things Catholic with Dr. Edward Sri. Together with Curtis Martin, Dr. Sri is a founding leader of the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS), of which he serves as senior vice president of Apostolic Outreach. Dr. Sri lives with his wife Beth and their children in Colorado.
