Fr Chris Alar offers hope and healing after suicide.

Practical Tips for Discernment

Do you feel like God is calling you to…something, but you don’t know what? Don’t know where to start? Do you find it hard to clear away the noise of life, and apps, and phones and really listen to God? If you said yes to any of these, you aren’t alone. Fr George Elliott joins us with practical tips for discernment.

Fr. George Elliott is the author of Discernment Do’s and Dont’s: A Practical Guide to Vocational Discernment. He’s a priest of the Diocese of Tyler, Texas where he serves as Pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He’s also Co-Founder and Director of Catholic CAST Media.

Hope after Suicide

Suicide rates in the US are the highest they’ve been since WWII. What happens when a loved dies by suicide? Is there hope for their soul? Does the family have a hope of moving on? We talk with Fr Chris Alar.

Father Chris entered the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception, the religious community entrusted with spreading the message and devotion of Divine Mercy, as a postulant in July, 2006. Currently he lives and works on Eden Hill in Stockbridge, Mass., home of the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy, where he serves as “Fr. Joseph, MIC,” the director of the Association of Marian Helpers.
