Kresta in the Afternoon – June 29, 2021 – Hour 1

On this feast of Sts Peter and Paul we explore Pauline theology with Brant Pitre.

Rethinking Pauline Theology

Before his radical conversion experience on the road to Damascus, St Paul – then known as Saul – was a strict follower of the Jewish faith. How did he view his Judaism after he became a follower of Christ? Brant Pitre joins us.

Brant Pitre is Distinguished Research Professor of Sacred Scripture at the Augustine Institute Graduate School of Theology and the author of many books, including Paul, a New Covenant Jew: Rethinking Pauline Theology, Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary, and the co-author with John Bergsma of A Catholic Introduction to the Bible: The Old Testament.
