Kresta in the Afternoon – June 26, 2024 – Hour 2

We continue from Acton University, discussing the foundations of America with John Pinheiro, the theology of work with Scott Rae, and the anniversary of Dobbs with Michael Kenney.

How Liberal was the American Founding?

Self-styled “post-liberals” argue that the American founding was a fatally flawed Enlightenment project, rooted in an ideological commitment to radical individualism. Dr. John Pinheiro will assess this argument by highlighting key moments, persons, and themes from the long American Revolution.

John Pinheiro is Director of Research at the Acton Institute for the Study of Religion and Liberty. He is the author of books and articles on the early American republic, including the award-winning Missionaries of Republicanism: A Religious History of the Mexican-American War and The American Experiment in Ordered Liberty.
