Kresta in the Afternoon – January 18, 2024 – Hour 1

Molly Yatso-Butz shares how her organization brings the warming light of the Gospel to Wisconsin’s homeless and Peggy Stanton puts us in the shoes of the fishermen who heard Jesus’ call to Follow Him.

The “Warming” Power of the Gospel

On Tuesday mornings, a group of men and women meet in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to pray and read Scripture. But there is something different about this Bible study – almost all its attendees are homeless. It’s a ministry that began at Most Blessed Sacrament parish and has expanded into the Day by Day Shelter. Molly Yatso-Butz tells the story.

The Call of the Fishermen

“Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.” These words of Jesus are directed to the fishermen Simon and Andrew in this Sunday’s Gospel, but they’re really meant for all of us. Would you “Drop your nets” if Jesus called you today? Peggy Stanton joins us.
