The storming of the Capitol, coming inauguration of Joe Biden and concerted effort to silence Donald Trump on social media has some speculating that we are on the brink of Civil War. While this may be a bit too dramatic, our political discourse is certainly at the lowest point in most of our lifetimes. Our enemies are not foreign adversaries; they are the people across the aisle. Is this crisis due to America’s greatest asset – its genius for freedom? Os Guinness joins us.

Os Guinness is the author or editor of more than 30 books, including The Global Public Square and Last Call for Liberty: How America’s Genius for Freedom Has Become its Greatest Threat. His newest book is The Dust of Death: The Sixties Counterculture and how it Changed America Forever. He is the great-great-great grandson of Arthur Guinness, the Dublin brewer, and was born in China in World War Two where his parents were medical missionaries. A witness to the climax of the Chinese revolution in 1949, he was expelled with many other foreigners in 1951 and returned to Europe where he was educated in England. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of London and his D.Phil in the social sciences from Oriel College, Oxford. Visit
