Dare we hope for an “Empty Hell?” – A history of the debate

In an interview with an Italian television program a few weeks ago, Pope Francis was asked how he “imagines hell” and said he “likes to think of hell as empty” and hopes that it is. He made it clear that this was a personal view and not a dogmatic one, and the question of Hell has been debated by theologians for years. We look at the debate with Dr. Daniel Lendman.
