Kresta in the Afternoon – February 27, 2024 – Hour 2

Why do some theologians say there are no infallible moral teachings? Robert Fastiggi joins us.

Is Catholic Sexual Morality Infallible?

In June 2022, a group of theologians met at the Pontifical Academy for Life to discuss how traditional Catholic sexual moral teachings are applied in the modern world. They proposed questions such as the meaning of a “radical paradigm change” in moral theology and whether some Church moral teachings are infallible. Dr. Robert Fastiggi and other theologians have complied a response to these questions; he joins us.

Dr. Robert Fastiggi serves as Chair of the Department of Dogmatic Theology and Christology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, where he has taught since 1999. He has served as the executive editor of the 2009-2013 supplements to the New Catholic Encyclopedia and the co-editor of the English translation of the 43rd edition of the Denzinger-Hünermann compendium published by Ignatius Press in 2012.
