SEG 4-1: The Royal Priesthood of the Laity (2 segments)

The Church has long taught that all baptized Christians share in Christ’s royal priesthood, and that we are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people,” who should “declare the wonderful deeds of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” What does that mean for the Laity, especially in this time of crisis? We’ll talk about it with Fr Michael Sweeney.

Fr. Michael Sweeney

Fr Michael Sweeney is a priest of the Western Dominican Province. He co-founded the Catherine of Siena Institute with Sherry Weddell and in 2015 founded the Lay Mission Project, a 3-year formation for the laity for the sake of evangelizing families, secular institutions and secular culture. SEG 4-3: The O Antiphons as Catechesis on Salvation History

This week we began the O Antiphons, the short chants used during Vespers to help prepare us for the final days of Advent. They are deeply set in scripture, history and tradition and we’ll look at how they serve as a catechesis on salvation history with Gregory di Pippo.
