Yesterday we began examining the life of Aleksander Solzhenitsyn. One of the authorities on his life was his friend Edward Ericson, who we spoke with several times before his own death in 2017. We look back on one of those discussions today.

Edward E. Ericson, Jr. (1939-2017) was Professor Emeritus of English at Calvin College. He is the author of Solzhenitsyn and the Modern World/a> , and he also served as the editor of the abridged, single-volume version of The Gulag Archipelego , which was authorized by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.
