Communism’s Deadly Legacy (Full hour)
When the Berlin Wall fell in November 1989, it was seen as a victory for the entire Western world. For years Americans, though divided on many issues, were united against a common enemy in Soviet-style Communism. We’ve talked before about the devastating effects of a Communist ideology, but what of the man who conceived them? We look at the life and thought process of Karl Marx with Paul Kengor.
Paul Kengor is author most recently of The Devil and Karl Marx. He’s professor of political science at Grove City College in Grove City, Pa., and senior academic fellow at the Center for Vision & Values. Dr. Kengor is author of over a dozen other books, including A Pope and a President: John Paul II, Ronald Reagan, and the Extraordinary Untold Story of the 20th Century, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Communism, and Dupes: How America’s Adversaries Have Manipulated Progressives for a Century.
