We continue our 25th anniversary retrospective with Mike Hopkins, who discusses living as a Catholic in outer space, and look back on a 2015 discussion with Cardinal Burke.

CLASSIC KRESTA: Living as a Catholic in Outer Space

What does a Catholic astronaut do when he goes into space? How can he receive the Eucharist when he’s orbiting 250 miles above the nearest church? Mike Hopkins spent 24 weeks aboard the International Space Station in 2013 and was allowed to take along a pyx with several Hosts broken into pieces. We’ll talk with Mike about how he lived his faith in outer space and what it’s like to receive Jesus while looking down on the earth.
