What Changed after the Fall?

When faced with the question of why there is so much suffering in the world, the default Christian answer is because of Adam’s sin. But the fossil record shows that animals were dying long before humans inhabited the planet. So what in the Created order changed as a result of Adam’s sin? Matthew Ramage joins us.

Matthew Ramage is Professor of Theology at Benedictine College where he serves as co-director of its Center for Integral Ecology. His most recent book, From the Dust of the Earth: Benedict XVI, the Bible, and the Theory of Evolution, was published by The Catholic University of America Press in 2022.
