Kresta Comments: Atheism at Columbine

We just passed the 25th anniversary of the Columbine Massacre, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold murdered 12 students and a teacher at Columbine High School. In his journal, Harris wrote “My belief is that if I say something, it goes. I am the law, if you don’t like it, you die.” Al looks at his beliefs and how they led to such a tragedy.

How I Discovered Mary through Art

Michelle Paine was raised in a devout Christian home, and outside of the Christmas season she didn’t give Mary much thought. That began to change when she spent a year studying Art History in Italy, where Marian imagery was everywhere. She shares how encountering Mary through art helped her find her way to the Church.

Michelle Paine is a contemporary painter and art historian. While studying in Italy in college she found her vocation as an artist and also a connection to history and tradition through the Catholic Church. Much of her work centers on themes related to the Virgin Mary and the encounter of the human and divine in the narrative of the Annunciation. After completing a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and a M.F.A. from University of New Hampshire she taught Drawing, Painting and Design for seven years at various colleges in New England.
