Could a strong heart be connected to strong thigh muscles? I’m Chuck Gaidica and this is Journey Strong. According to a study out of the European Society of cardiology in Prague, some of my people, the answer is yes. June is the month of the Sacred Heart so let’s focus on the heart for just 60-seconds. According to this study, those having strong quadricep muscles, the front thigh muscles, are less likely to develop heart failure after a heart attack. Observed high strength in thigh muscles indicated a 41-percent reduced risk of heart failure. How do we strengthen our quads? Well, like any muscles, lift some weight. We can do body weight squats or lunges, or use a leg press at a gym. That’s the machine with a large plate connected to weights that you press with your feet. Add some quad exercises to your workout routine. Your heart may thank you.
