For Next Step Towards ‘Equality,’ Democrats Want to Eliminate These Two Words From Federal Law
As we pointed out yesterday in one of our featured articles (http://ow.ly/3y1zkF) the floodgates have opened on the many many ways that homosexuals and their allies seek to push their agenda far beyond “marriage.” Yesterday we pointed out that we now have to be worried about insurance coverage for Churches. Now two more stories today: 1) Democrats have proposed a new bill to strike the words “husband” and “wife” from all federal laws and 2) A homosexual man has filed a $70 million lawsuit against Bible publishers Zondervan and Thomas Nelson, alleging that their version of the Bible that refers to homosexuality as a sin violates his constitutional rights and has caused him emotional distress. Anyone who believed that the gay agenda was satisfied by the Obergfell decision was sadly mistaken.

Dozens of Democrats have proposed a new bill to strike the words “husband” and “wife” from federal law in order to take the next step towards their vision of “equality.”
Under the “Amend the Code for Marriage Equality Act,” sponsored by Rep. Lois Capps (D-Calif.), “gendered terms” would be replaced with more “gender-neutral” terms, the Washington Examiner reported. For example, “husband” and “wife” would simply become “spouse.”
Capps said the bill “recognizes that the words in our laws have meaning and can continue to reflect prejudice and discrimination even when rendered null by our highest courts,” referencing the Supreme Court’s recent decision to legalize gay marriage.
She added, “Our values as a country are reflected in our laws. I authored this bill because it is imperative that our federal code reflect the equality of all marriages.”
The Democrat also claimed her bill would make it illegal to threaten the spouse of any future woman president as federal law currently only prohibits threatening the president’s “wife.”
In order to become law, the legislation would have to successfully navigate through the Republican-controlled House and Senate.
