Since the 40 Days for Life fall campaign is currently underway, we will pray the Akathist Hymn to the Mother of God outside of the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic on Professional Drive in Ann Arbor.
For centuries, Eastern Christians, both Orthodox and Eastern Catholic, have prayed the Akathist Hymn to ask the intercession and protection of the Mother of God. Therefore, it is the perfect prayer to use for the purpose of asking for the Blessed Virgin’s assistance in defeating the culture of death.
If you’ve never prayed the Akathist Hymn before, don’t worry. Most of us had never prayed it before when we prayed it back in August, and it went beautifully. For more information on the Akathist Hymn, take a look at this video, courtesy of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1aTQe869rg

The Mission for the Women’s Catholic Conference in the Diocese of Lansing:
To Open our hearts; to enlarge them and expand them to receive more of
God’s love. Then receiving, experiencing and knowing God’s love and allowing
that love to transform our hearts into the image and likeness of the heart of Jesus, we can then
bring this same transforming love to others in our homes, families, churches,
workplaces and communities.
At His Feet, Women in Scripture will be performing at the Lansing Diocese Catholic Women’s Conference
Magic Carpet Theatre has been invited back to perform at the Conference which sold out last year to 1000 women! Don’t miss this amazing Spirit-filled event in Lansing! Two scenes will be shared from At His Feet, Women in Scripture: The Woman at the Well and Martha and Mary. Using drama to open hearts to Jesus, we take a look at some women from scripture who were forever changed by their encounters with Christ. Both pieces are humorous and poignant. The Woman at the Well moves the viewer to reflect on conversion, mercy and the call to evangelize and Martha and Mary begs the question: How is God calling me to love…to serve or to sit at his feet?
BACSlapper features casino style games of chance, great food, drinks, fun, raffles and an outstanding silent auction with exceptional prizes. Also featured is the $10,000 Giant Cash Raffle with five additional $1000 cash prizes. Admission to the event is for ages 21 and older. Please join us for an enjoyable evening!
