In This Together–Dementia Awareness
May 1 @ 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM| Free
No one and no family need face Alzheimer’s or any other dementia alone. There is no shame in having the disease, but there’s virtue in learning about it. This presentation by Saline resident Jim Mangi uses the story of his ongoing 11 year journey caring for his wife, who has Younger Onset Alzheimer’s, as a framework to tell members of the community about the disease, how to recognize it, how to acquire caregiving skills, and how to get help. Expect reliable information, a few laughs, maybe a tear or two, and lots of hope. This talk, titled, Alzheimer’s–A Disease, Not A Disgrace”, which will be repeated on Saturday morning, 4 May, is the kickoff presentation in Holy Faith Church’s “In This Together-Dementia Awareness” program continuing into July. This series of free presentations will address various aspects of dealing with dementia. For a complete listing of the other ten talks go to the In This Together page at www.holy-faith-church.org.
